Digging for the Truth – Queen Nefertiti
Queen Nefertiti (ca. 1370 BC- ca. 1330 BC) was the wife of Akhenaten, one of the most controversial rulers of the 18th dynasty of Ancient Egypt. As consort and, according to many historians, co-regent Nefertiti and her husband led a religious revolution, abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism and replacing it with a cult of worship for a single god, Aten. Nefertiti has also become synonymous with female physical beauty, due in part to a bust of the queen discovered in the early 20th century.
