John Stossel’s Politically Incorrect Guide to Politics is a ABC 2020 documentary about political parties as well as candidates making outlandish campaign promises during election period. There’s an enormous euphoria in every election year. Most people claim that their chosen president or candidate will solve all the problem of United States. Barack Obama invigorates idol worship which is typically lavished upon celebrities. Within a Republican conference, one gentleman claim John McCain was similar to Superman.
McCain and Obama would need to become a mixture of Santa Claus, Superman, and even Mother Teresa to perform what their followers and believers say they will perform. Regardless of whether they will, politicians are unable to guide the American way of life and fix its conditions. This belief in political promises flourishes in election time despite ongoing government incapability.
Stossel state that large farm bills have risen the cost of food and squashed out little farms. Campaign fund reform makes it more difficult to dispute incumbents. FEMA unable to supply water on a New Orléans which ravaged by massive hurricane. Medicare carries a $35 trillion unfunded legal responsibility. Politicians’ so called “fixes” generally worsen the situation. Still the media along with the political class demand greater government management.

It is so candid to be in the position that people notice how political candidates use promises just to get the approval of the people. To the point of lying to them, without the slightest abilities to carry out the promises he himself announces during a campaign, he could easily go on, and when victory is at hand, he cannot even remember where he announced his promises and what promises they are. I think a deep exploration of this usual false promises is at hand. I glad to see these in the documentary.
It is true that politician can’t do what they are supposed to do or as wished by their followers but they may do a little of the hope which may please their follower.
I hope public want a good person to be in the power who can solve their problem but it not always what they got. Politician are too human so they have limitation, hence they can only do what they able to or in capable of.
"If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal." by Emma Goldman
You see, voting changes nothing. Others law over people no matter the end result, people continue to be property of the state government. Elections are only a manipulation tactic. The government wants the general public to believe they are important. True reform arises from disobedience and direct action, never from voting to create change.
